The PATINA platform

Last updated: 1 October 2026

PATINA is a post-purchase platform for fashion and luxury brands, built on Digital Product Passports (DPPs). It gives every product a persistent digital identity and a rules engine that decides what happens each time it is scanned, for the life of that product. Brands use it to run authentication, resale, care, repair, take-back, warranty and loyalty after the point of sale, while capturing first-party data and meeting EU Digital Product Passport requirements.

Authentication and resale

Every product on PATINA carries a unique, scannable identity linked to the brand's own records. Customers, resellers and retailers can scan it to confirm the product is genuine and see where it came from, which reduces fraud and builds trust in second-hand sales. When an item is resold, ownership transfers to the next owner through the same identity. Brands can route resale through their own channels and earn commission on second-hand sales instead of losing that value to third-party marketplaces.

Care, repair and take-back

PATINA keeps products in use for longer. When a customer scans their product, they see the services the brand has set for that specific item: care guidance, booking a repair, trading it in or returning it at end of life. Brands without their own repair or take-back operations can route requests to specialist service partners, so they can offer these services, and earn from them, without building the operations in-house. Take-back and end-of-life handling also support Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.

Ownership registration and warranty

Customers register ownership by scanning the product. This links them to that item and activates its warranty, with no receipts or paperwork. The brand gets a verified, first-party record of who owns each product, which it can use for warranty claims, care reminders and loyalty rewards. When the product changes hands, the next owner can register too, so the relationship continues across owners.

Loyalty and engagement

The relationship with a customer usually ends at checkout. With PATINA, the product itself becomes a direct channel to its owner that doesn't depend on email or ad platforms. Brands can unlock exclusive content, access, events and rewards through the product, and keep engaging customers long after the first sale.

First-party data and post-purchase insight

Most brands lose sight of a product once it is sold. PATINA gives brands first-party data from products already in the world: who owns them, how they are used, cared for, repaired and resold, and when they change hands. That data stays with the brand, follows its own privacy and consent settings, and can feed the CRM and other systems it already uses.

DPP and ESPR compliance

PATINA structures the data Digital Product Passport regulation calls for: a persistent product identity plus material, origin and lifecycle information, ready for the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The delegated act setting the detailed textile DPP requirements is expected in 2027, with an 18-month window for brands to comply. PATINA is built to adapt as the detailed requirements are published, so the same passport that meets the regulation also powers every post-purchase service above.

Integrations and data ownership

PATINA connects to a brand's existing ERP, CRM, PLM and compliance systems through APIs rather than replacing them. It reads data already held elsewhere and adds the rules and customer experience on top. Brands keep their existing systems as the main record, and they own the product and customer data.

Who PATINA is for

PATINA is built for fashion, luxury and lifestyle brands of every size: SMEs, mid-market brands and global enterprises. Smaller brands can launch Digital Product Passports and post-purchase services without building their own infrastructure. Larger brands can run them across big catalogues and multiple markets, connected to their existing systems.

Prove what your customers want, before you build it.

Start with one connected product line. Launch it, learn what customers engage with, then scale what works.

  1. 1. Define

Choose one product line, one regulation to meet, and one commercial outcome to prove.

  2. 2. Design

Map the product record, owner experience, and workflow around what customers want — not just compliance.

  3. 3. Prototype

Build a live connected-product experience on your real product and data, then put it in customers' hands.

  4. 4. Validate

Measure response, feasibility, and the commercial case so you scale on evidence, not assumption.

One product line. One connected experience. One measurable answer.
